Project Name: An Introduction to Symbolic Powers

    Pedagogical Information (click to view)
The project introduced the student to symbolic powers of ideals and their algebraic and geometric significance. We examined their origins in primary decomposition and their role in fundamental theorems, studied containment relations with ordinary powers, localization, and associated primes, and explored their behavior under graph-theoretic operations such as subgraphs and induced subgraphs. The student developed both conceptual understanding and technical proficiency across these themes.

    Project Name: Exploring Commutative Algebra

    Pedagogical Information (click to view)
This report presented an introduction to commutative algebra. We began by studying ideals and modules from the book of M.F. Atiyah and I.G. MacDonald as the basic objects of the theory, then examined rings and modules of fractions and primary decomposition. Finally, we explored chain conditions and Noetherian rings, emphasizing their role in the structural foundations of the subject.
